The speakers are even magnetically shielded, so they won't interfere with the picture when placed near a TV.
Other than the wide-ranging speaker system, the IHT3817DT's most distinguishing feature is its variety of inputs and outputs. The unit includes four A/V inputs--two RCA and two S-video--along with a traditional L/R audio input and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. As a result, you can hook up a host of audio and video devices to the speaker system, including a portable MP3 player, full-size CD player, DVD player, satellite receiver, camcorder, and more. At the same time, the system offers composite and S-video output jacks, so you can connect your iPod video or photo to a TV and view your pictures and videos on the big screen. I purchased this item because it does have a nice sound, however, it arrived defective. Needless to say I had bought one for my friend who tells me the display does not work now and he contacted the manufacturer and left a message no one returned his call. So having a incorporate of touch I think I have had it with this product.
